Michael,
Now that I’ve been “outed,” could you explain to a newbie like me, how you knew about my blog? I’m assuming it was because I linked to eLiterate in my latest post. But I thought I was operating in stealth mode since I didn’t do a trackback.
And thanks for the kind words!
Michael Feldstein says
Being in “stealth mode” on the internet is like being in “stealth mode” in Times Square; it’s possible that you won’t be noticed in the crowd, but it certainly isn’t the case that you can’t be seen. In your case, you made the mistake of linking to my blog. Since I’m a member at Technorati, I can maintain up to three free RSS feeds that return Technorati search results. Like most narcissistic bloggers, one of the feeds to which I subscribe is a search for my URL. When you linked to me, Technorati picked it up (they seem to index Blogger-hosted sites pretty quickly) and lickety-split, it showed up in my RSS aggregator. Behold, the magic of the internet!
And you’re welcome.

I suspected it might be Technorati. I have that on my radar, but haven’t looked at it closely until now.
And as for “narcissistic,” you may have noticed that of all the intelligent, cogent, well-written posts you have posted, I only respond to the one with my name on it!
Human nature, I guess.
