In my recent post on Cengage’s author moving over to OER, I included some references to a small company called Activ Learning which was mentioned in a joint press release. I received a complaint from the company’s CEO on Friday afternoon, asserting that the post contained inaccurate speculation about Cengage’s relationship with Aktiv—the companies have none—and an assumption that the interaction model in their current OpenStax integration in their current Chemistry product would also apply to the new Organic Chemistry product.
After reviewing Aktiv’s complaints, I concluded they were reasonable. Consequently, I have removed all references to Aktiv from the original post. I apologize for any inadvertent confusion I may have caused.
